My husband and I have been reading in Isaiah lately and were reminded that God has a plan for each and every one of our lives. We don't always see what that plan is at the time. Sometimes, we don't see the plan until months or even years later; but there has always been and will always be a plan.

From before we were born God knew what choices we would make and he made provisions. About two years ago we prayed and asked that the Lord would provide my husband with a first shift job so he could spend more time with our daughter then just weekends. Job openings have come and gone and he has been passed over time and time again even when he was eminently qualified. Always we would talk about how despite our disappointment we knew God had a plan for our family.

Recently some events took place that lead us to believe that God may be going to provide a job with a new employer for my husband at a place of business only ten minutes from our home instead of the fifty minutes he has been driving for the last ten years. Had my husband attained one of the first shift jobs with his current employer, certain events that are leading to this possible new job would never have taken place.

As we thought about that today we realized that despite what we see or don't see, that despite what we think we know or don't know, God sees all and knows all. God wants what is best for us and what seems like a long wait for us is only a moment for him. The key is in fully trusting him as scripture commands and letting him guide us on our journey wherever that may be for as long as it takes.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I so agree with what you've shared here Aileen about God having a plan for our lives and because God's way is perfect so is His timing. I've had similar things happen in regards to moving. Had we gone ahead with something earlier we would  not have received the blessing of a newly built home and all the blessings we received when moving into it. Would we want to accept less when God has something better in store for us! Patience and trusting the Lord is what we must do indeed.

Let us know how this job works out for your husband.

Thank you for sharing this Aileen.

Blessings

What a wonderful post and oh, so very true!

I'm happy to hear that your "timing" is approaching with your husbands' employment! Good Luck and May He continue to bless y'all!
